It all dates back to when I was in 2nd year and I was too worried when mailed to Professors in US for my internship and they said that they haven't heard of it. I decided that day to do something for my university by making it known to the people far across. I got to know about my senior Mr. Kanishka Tyagi Sir who told me not to waste any time in summer vacations and do some projects and trainings. I went to IIT Roorkee for my summer project and got to learn something new. Then I found my work really good and thought of writing a paper on it. After a rigorous work finally I came out with one paper and submitted to American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) 3rd International Conference on Energy Sustainability. It was my fortune when I got the news that my work has been recognised by the world's largest society of mechanical Engineers and it has been selected for the oral presentation in the conference which was to be held in San Francisco, California from 19-23 July, 2009.

But the registration fees for the conference was 300 USD without which I could not even attend the conference. I was much worried from where will I get such a huge amount of money. I talked to Dr. R. C. S. Mehta Sir and he advised me to contact the WPAA. I followed his advice and I mailed the Respected Alumni of College of Technology. Finally I was able to pay my registration fees when Tanay Srivastava Sir from Dubai and Rahul Chandra Sir from Noida helped me to pay off my 300 USD. Without their help it would have been really impossible to pay that amount. Since now I had the opportunity to go to US for presenting my work so I thought of applying for my VISA. At that time also I was not in position to bear such a heavy expense of going to US and stay there for 6 days and that too in a costly city like San Francisco. Once again WPAA helped me in getting out of this difficult situation. I was granted 600 USD travel grant from WPAA. I contacted Sh. Rajeev Agrawal Sir and his sincere and rigorous efforts helped me in getting 600 USD grant and also Sh. Sachin Garg Sir (1996 Batch) agreed to let me stay at his home for the conference period. I got that much brotherly love from his family that It was like I was staying at my own home. The following was the contribution for my travel grant:

1. Sh. Sudhir Bhargava Sir (1970 batch College of Technology ) - $200
2. Sh. Devender Goyal  Sir(1985 Computer Engineering) - $100
3. Sh. Sachin Garg Sir(1996 Electronics And Comm.) - $200
4. Sh. Vikas K Malik Sir (1989, Electrical Engineering)- $100

That grief of mine when Iw as in 2nd year was solaced when I spoke out my university's name in front of the professionals there and told them that we are the first agricultural university in India. I was glad that I could make it to US and that I washelped by my College Alumni. It was really great experience there as  got to make many contacts in NASA and Stanford University.

This experience of mine will always remind me that the bond between the juniors and seniors in Pantnagar will never break and It will moreover strengthen with time. I am proud to belong to Pantnagar and I wish more and more students like me go to abroad places to present such conferences/seminars and let the world know of us as much as possible.

Once again my special thanks to all the Respected Alumni for helping me and providing me their warm wishes and blessings which led me to the present stage. I am looking for that day when I too will be in a position to help my juniors like I was helped and want to feel that happiness.

PROUD TO BE A PANTNAGARIAN!!!

I am pleased that humanity exists and this platform has formed a basis of realising the aspirations and dreams of one person and thus moulding his future in the process. And it's endearing that Ankit has shown his gratitude so well to the well-deserving role models for all members.

Keep it up WPAA!

We are all proud of you Ankit.
I request other Alumni to please help him in getting a good first job in these recessionary times. He missed Campus Placements for Maruti & Whirlpool as he was in training in BARC.

Why can't G.B. Pant University shut down COT and CBSH ? Just don't let the students graduate in Engineering and Science major, since after graduation they will mostly remain unemployed; there are already too many IITs/NITs/Private Colleges- BITS/Manipal/Amity/JaganDas-Chagan Das type colleges in India.
Uttarakhand govt. can save that money to impart primary and rural education.

Well I would like to clear the doubt of this person who has given his VALUABLE advise of shutting down the COT and CBSH. I don't know of CBSH but speaking of COT the placements are good and I wanna know the name of the person who says that after graduating from here most of the people remain unemployed. If the person himself did nothing in 4 years at COT except strolling around the greem campus and badi and Choti and TIC then I am sure that he/she can't grab a job even if he /she would have been in IIT/NIT/BITS.

And also in my 3 and a half years sojourn at Pantnagar I haven't seen any single student who is good at studies and extra curr and is not placed. So its appeal to all such people not to ruin the repo of COT in the context of no jobs for students. And I welcome even a single case of a bright student unemployed from Pantnagar....

And regarding the placement one The time I was in BARC I dint knew that we are not eligible for Maruti and that whirlpool will not come. It was my problem that I shared with my Alumni and that was the reason he made an appeal. I forgot to reply to his post on WPAA but have talked to him in personal.

Hope no issues now...
