Proceedings of the Alumni Meet "Samanvay 2006"
1.The programme started with the registration of Alumni compiling the details about their present position, organization and place of work by way of filling the registration form.
2.The inaugural programme started with welcome address by the Joint Secretary, ACABMA.
3.The current batches introduced themselves followed by the introduction of alumni. The alumni shared their experiences in respective fields.
4.Dr. V.P.S. Arora, Dean, CABM in his address highlighted the major development/achievements of the university in general and CABM in particular. He highlighted the academic progress, infrastructure development etc. to the alumni. He also delivered the words of appreciation for the alumni for their incessant hard work to achieve the targets and help the college gaining recognition.
5.In the post lunch session, a brainstorming session was organized comprising four themes. The suggestions propounded by the house are produced below:
Road Map to CABM Brand Building
- Regular visits of experts from the industry including SIDCUL and nearby places be arranged
- CABM faculty should develop cases and publish these in magazines and journals or in paid sites
- Research papers should also be published and put in sites
- Regular updating of CABM website be ensured
- Newsletters should also be available at CABM's website in downloadable format
- College should participate in important and relevant events organized by different B-Schools
Changes in Course Curriculum
- One Course on Retail Management may be started looking into future prospects
- Short module courses may be of eight/ten lectures on important subjects including Courses on Event Management, Office Administration and Insurance Management may be introduced.
- Soft skills development should also be emphasized for which services of professional agencies be secured
Summer placement and PPTs
- The number of students opting one company for summer placement may be restricted to two
- Stipend and payment of expenses may be negotiated and made clear before Summer placement
- Placement activities may preferably be organized in couple of days instead of weeks
- Follow ups with the companies should be made more stronger
Reinforcing College-Alumni Relations and Strengthening ACABMA
- Lifetime membership fees should be reduced to Rs. 2000 from Rs 5000
- Membership fees should be collected by the advisors from all the outgoing students at the time of no dues.
- There shall only be Life Membership
- Date decided for next ACABMA meet i.e. 2nd or 3rd October, 2007
6.The new adhoc office bearers of executive body were nominated as there was no executive body standing on the date due to expiry of the membership. The office bearers were assigned a responsibility to get the process complete for constituting the executive body and mobilizing the entire pass out students for taking ACABMA membership. They should also elect one representative from each batch to augment the membership drive.

The Alumni Mentorship programme committee was also constituted with a decision that the following students shall be submitting monthly progress report regarding the programme to Dean CABM:

7. Cultural evening was organized in the Mini auditorium, College of Agriculture by the current batches of CABM.
8.In the Valedictory Function, alike the last year the following students and Staff member was awarded certificates under different categories:

9. Finally the programme was ended with the blessing speech of Dean CABM and Vote of thanks by Chairman, Management Society.

The name should be changed from samanvay to something else as SAMANVAY is the name of the College of Technology's meet... for the past 3 years...
